Zumba gold for new immigrant women in Beit Shemesh

It’s a full hour of cardiovascular workout. It strengthens the Heart and cardiovascular system. The model for this class is a sequence of short simple dances to the beat of lively and fun music. There is a brief pause in between dances to catch your breath and take a drink! (Excellent for weight loss and maintenance, you will leave feeling on a high as a result of the release of endorphins)

Bone Building

Geared towards treating and preventing osteoporosis and osteopenia by increasing bone and muscle tissue in the body, plus improved balance. It’s a whole body workout, yet special emphasis is placed on stimulating the areas of the body most prone to fractures, which are the spine, hips and wrists. The model used for this class is a fun warm-up in a circle setting to the beat of modern music followed by a series of “funky walks” from one side of the room to the other, stimulating the hip joint in ways we never do in everyday life. Last is going on a chair or mat using weights, bands and balls.

Chair Yoga and Strength Yoga

We offer 2 yoga classes, one immediately following the next, each one lasting 45 min. The first one is done on a chair; the second class is on the mat. You will lengthen the muscles and soften the tightness in the many tissues surrounding them, achieving functional mobility. Plus, you will align your body in an optimal way, learning new patterns for correct posture.

Chair Yoga takes place Tuesday mornings at 9:00 and is followed by strength yoga at 9:45

Strength and Stretch

This class is gentle yet thorough. The model followed is a strength exercise followed by a stretch, and so on, throughout the class.
You will build up strength and endurance, stretch joints, and improve range of motion and balance

Israeli Dancing

Offered during the evening hours, enjoy this cultural and inter-generational class with your friends and family. Lasts 2 hours, during the first hour we learn new dances.

Israeli dancing will start again in February. It’s open to women of all ages and takes place Tuesday nights from 8:00 to 10:30 p.m. This class is not included in the memberships. Cost is 35 shekels per class.

Gi Kong

This slow-flow class, is from the family of Tai Chi. Improve your health, muscle strength, flexibility, balance, and posture while lowering blood pressure, reducing stress, anxiety and depression.

Gi Kong takes place Sundays at 11:45 a.m. This class is not included in the memberships. Cost is 35 shekels per class.

Nordic walking for men

Nordic Walking is a form of physical activity, where regular, natural walking is enhanced by the addition of the active use of a pair of specially-designed Nordic Walking poles. Nordic Walking Burns up to 46% more calories than regular walking. Increases aerobic effect by up to 25% compared to regular walking. Decreases load and strain on the lower body. Tones upper arms, shoulders and back muscles.

Nordic walking for men takes place every Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. Nordic poles are available to borrow. Cost is 40 shekels per session. Reduced price available with a punch-card.
